Director of Operations

Directs and leads restaurant operations for a region of the company's business to maximize individual restaurant and regional profitability. This position is accountable for implementing and executing tactical and strategic operational initiatives that support future business growth.

Duties

  • Conduct structured visits to validate operational controls.
  • Must visit each of assigned restaurants.
  • Actively recruiting for management staff at all times.
  • Team members relations issues addressed quickly and in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Preview management payrolls each pay period.
  • Plan and lead LTO meetings
  • Weekly financial reporting
  • Guest Complaint resolution
  • Safety and sanitation inspections
  • Communicates key business focus areas to management team and build commitment to fulfill the company vision and values.

Leadership Skills

In partnership with the Field Supervisor, ensures that all training and maintenance requirements are fulfilled throughout the week.
Leads and guides management team to improve guest satisfaction, increase revenue and profits.
Develops and executes strategies to achieve operational goals.
Minimize guest and team member's work place injuries through a commitment to maintain and a safe and healthy work environment.
Monitors and manages the financial progress of the restaurants on an ongoing basis, including staffing, expenses control ensuring that budgeting targets are achieved.
Identifies improvement opportunities and recommendations, implements solutions and measures results.

Administrative Assistant

Office Administrative assistant duties and responsibilities includes providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. The admin job scope includes communicating via phone and email ensuring that all administrative assistant duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Maintain contact lists
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Develop and maintain a filing system

Responsibilities include:

  • Executing annual financial, local restaurant marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives, strategies and tactics for the restaurant as defined by the current IHOP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the restaurant's current operations plan
  • Developing and maintaining professional functional working relationship with restaurant hourly employees and the franchisee organization
  • Managing the restaurant floor, focusing on regular contact with guests. Handling guest complaints in a professional and timely manner, making sure that the frequency of complaints is within acceptable limits.
  • Ensuring that employee recruitment and training, operations, food preparation, food safety and sanitation, and security practices are in compliance with SOP in these areas.
  • Carrying our supervisory duties such as recruitment and hiring, training, directing workflow, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving complaints and problems.
  • Completing all required reports and paperwork accurately and on time. Maintaining personnel files with appropriate employment and legal documents.

Qualifications are:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to speak and read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and guests.
  • Basic computer skills including Email, MS Excel, MS Word is required

Cook

IHOP Cooks are responsible for the preparation and cooking of food products accurately and with minimal waste. Duties of this position include learning and applying all IHOP-specialized galley terminology, plating, menu items and procedures according to company standards. IHOP Cooks are expected to set up equipment, verify stock, and maintain a clean and sanitary work area while maintaining company sanitation standards. This position requires you to stand for up to 8 hours during a shift, be able to lift at least and/or move up to 50 pounds, and have full mobility of hands and arms while performing repetitive tasks. IHOP Cooks are also required to perform duties necessary for restaurant operations as assigned by acting supervisor, following governmental and company policies.
